the status of a mini-laptop ;)

nope, didn't forget about, or gave up on it. Are you kidding me? I love this project, albeit a nervewrecking one ;).

I recently realized I've never made a setup with the laptopparts so far, which are the parts that have been ready for a few years now, but so here it is. And although it's all loose and (especially the bottompart) needs some important things besides glueing it all together, it gives a nice idea. Of course this is the off-view, the laptop will have a normal screen that you've seen before for when it's lit. This is an insert for a dark screen, we have to keep it realistic right? :D

well, a thousand miles this is, my ever so challenging mini-laptop, I've been able to work on a bit the past few weeks! Meaning that I could finally proceed on the lighting again. In my head I've known for months what to do, but in ones head connections don't come loose all the time and once connected lights don't stay dark for unclear reasons either :).

my mother, boyfriend and some others have shaken their heads more than once laughing and think I'm crazy to want to make something in a way that makes it way too difficult or seems impossible.

well, I think that sometimes too ;) And yesterday was one of those times.

not even doing anything with wiring itself I got myself another laptop wiring challenge yesterday.

I'm happy to tell you that I wíll be able to solve it, relatively easy even. The photo is with a quickly restored - but not yet permanent - connection.

not that I've taken any other kind before, but the past 6 months it's the pace of a sloth in hibernation too :) . I was finally able to do some little things lately however and today wanted to test the lights of my laptop because I still needed to before I can go on. But they don't do a thing, zilch, noppes, nada, no-thing... at all.. :(

It's not so much anymore and I feel confident it's going to be great!

started making miniature laptop

my next project is a miniature laptop, after my own. I want it with a light, but even the smallest bulbs were to big (screen would have to be twice as thick with them, which I found unacceptable!), but then I found tiny bulbs, 0,75 mm (!) that would just be right. I'm very curious on how realistic I will be able to make it, but I have some ideas that might bring me close. Just some parts I made to start with, mostly from my beloved thin black plastic that comes with sandwichmeats.
