too big for comfort?

Hey there! I've been making little steps of progress the past year with the working blender and the scene to present it in when finished: I só look forward to be able to make a real miniature smoothie!! 😋 It's just a simple (scrapbook+printed on cardboard) mock-up type scene (see all the way down for some overview shots), since it's just to showcase a miniature. Because we'll need a bit more patience for the blender, I thought it'd be fun to show one of my kitchen miniatures I really like, while I always enjoy having a little photo-shoot. And any excuse to take out awesome miniatures from my stash and see them in a scene ;).

But although the scene is sure to not pass any building regulations (please don't report me to the 12th scale building commission 😉), I think it still looks pretty cool and fine for its purpose. The espresso machine though? Well, turns out that's a ...

let's talk rustic & vintage, with a hint of industrial

yes, finally! this display has been ready for years, including this blogpost about it, but I really wanted to show the scene - well technically it's 2 - at once and still needed to make the lampshade and finish the legs of the 'glass' table. Both required things I could not do until recently and wanted to take advantage of that of course. Enjoy!

the 'hint of industrial' is of course the lamp that I made for this display and will go to the Oldtique Store-to-be. I have one like this myself and I thought it be great to make a miniversion of it. I'm not

about inspiration, creativity & tips, PART III of VII

hi again my dear minifriends, it's part III of my series! If you've read the first 2 parts, you might have been waiting for some concrete tips after all the wordy stuff ;). It took a while to publish although it had been ready for ages. As you might remember it's part of a major post I wrote last year and split it up in 7 pieces, hence the title. This part only needed a few photo's of materials that I finally got to make.

today I'd like to share with you the first tip that might be of help to some of you. It consists of several tips and hints, but I think comes down to one principal, which is why I call it tip one. It covers basic stuff, but I think quite essential for getting the best results.
if you missed it, you can go to PART I and PART II by clicking the link and the parts up until now will also be in the tab 'Inspiration' added above. All 7 parts will be there in time for easy finding.

about inspiration, creativity & tips, PART II of VII

welcome at the second part of this series of seven in total (that's what I counted including the first two when deviding what was left after this). Can you imagine that all those 7 parts were originally just one post? And you'll understand why I had to devide it into parts, each of them still being very long :D.
If you missed it, you can go to PART I by clicking the link and the first and second part will also be in a tab 'Inspiration' I added above. All 7 parts will be there in time for easy finding.

so this is where I hope things get a bit inspirational ;). This part is mostly for anyone of you who can feel insecure about your abilities and/or creative side

about inspiration, creativity & tips, PART I of VII

NOTE: Because it had gotten so ridiculously long, but almost entirely finished for a while now, I've decided to break it up in parts. For clearity and to prevent insanity and/or being overwhelmed on your side :D. So today, part I. Not really inspirational yet, but an important introduction I think. And might be a bit inspirational in a way? In any case it's long enough already ;)

I've been writing a different kind of post, adding to it from time to time and digging up old photo's or made new photo's of stuff I've made in the past to support this looooonng post ;). I realise it totally depends on where you are miniature-/craftwise, what's important or helpful to you, etc, if this post is useful at all. But it's for anyone who might be happy with some advice from yours truly and can benefit from it.
