first photo's are without the star, that I made later, but didn't get the nice pictures as before |
She isn't perfect and in the process she was even head- and armless because of the fragilness of the wood in cutting it. And as if that wasn't enough, the poor things hands also got cut in half when I was 'drilling' a tiny hole in the thin and fragile wood. I solved this by just gluing them all back, because the first time cutting it out I had the same problem and I think it's fine! It's my imperfect angel and I'm very happy with her!
with the star now made &attached and the angel in the arms of her big counterpart |
I want to thank you for all your kind words and support in one of the most difficult, sad, bizar and turbulent years I've ever had (just take my word for it) and wish you a great new year, with new chances, mini's, and everything that's important to you and wish for!
I - for myself - hope it will be a year with good things for my boyfriend and me, a lot more miniaturing (yes, of course that's a word, and if not, now it is ;) ) and (lots more) improvement in my health so I can taste more of life again and will help fulfill my first and second wish. And of course: finish that laptop! ;)
Cheers & to new beginnings!
Monique, your work is always fabulous and unique! My best wishes for calm seas ahead for you and all of us! Merry Christmas! -emily
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Emily, I wish you the very best as well!

ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and Happy 2014!
Greetings, Faby
Tnx Faby, always great to read! You have a great new year too!
DeleteYour little angel is absolutely delightful Monique, a tiny symbol of your creativity and your determination to see a job through no matter what. We see those qualities again and again in your miniature world and I am certain they shine through in your 'real' life as well. I truly hope that this little angel's star will light the way into a new year full of health, happiness and lots of miniaturing (hey, I'm a linguist and I agree with you that it's a real word!). Best wishes too for a blessed Christmas, may it be all that you anticipate and more. Thanks too for enchanting and inspiring us over the past year, can't wait to see what you come up with in 2014! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Norma, you are indeed a linguist as you always know how to put things so beautifully... Your comment made me feel so great, your words are so wonderful and warm, thank you! I also wish you all wonderful things for the year ahead, may it be a better one for you too, that's always something to wish for right? And to all things mini as well, that we can keep inspiring each other, the best thing about this great bloggingcommunity. Warm wishes, Monique
DeleteHello Monique! I can fully appreciate what you have felt about the past year as being a challenge but I wish for you and yours, a Happier and Healthier New Year ahead. Just being able to say that you got through 2013 still intact emotionally, is a blessing, in view of all of the struggles you have expressed in some of your past posts. Be strong and of Good Courage. Your little angel with the Star of Bethlehem is leading the way into 2014!
ReplyDeleteHave a very Merry Christmas and A New Year filled with renewed faith and hope! :D
elizabeth
Thank you so much Elizabeth, and you are so right, it would have been easy to slip into complete madness and I can tell you I've been close. But forcing myself to do what I know is right kept me from it and I'm proud of that. I will let my little angel leading my way into 2014, a beautiful thought, well said! I wish you the best as well, I hope your year will be a good one, with whatever you need and wish for, warm wishes, Monique
