mantle

some progress on the mantle for the christmaslantern. I'm so thrilled about the rustic slate-appearance the mantle has, while I made it with fimo! (on the wooden base I made earlier, see my post on November 25th). It was not meant to and the idea was to make ornaments on the mantle, but I liked the slate appearance so much that I got working on the top, that I decided that was going to be it for the whole mantle, and I'll won't add ornaments. I will only add trimming.

just some things

there are some Christmaslanternthings I still need/want to show that I've had for a while and why not now? With the country covered in a blanket of snow, temperatures well below freezing and people skating everywhere in Holland, it might as well be (a white) Christmas ;)
just a picture with also a glance of the rocking chair this time (still very much in progress)

teatime with a good book

being a tea-a-holic I needed to make a teabag. And since I like to make things as real as possible, it had to be like the real one*

'antique' chest

this is a kit I ordered last year and is finished. I've made it nice and old by sanding the corners round, adding dark chalk in corners and other places to suggest years of use and old leather straps (from an old and worn down necklace)
